Wellington met Taranaki at Hawera yesterday. After a strenuous game, victory rested with the visitors (two tries, ono converted) to a, try by Taranaki. An Auckland message says: "The Auckland Rugby Union, at a meeting last night, decided to rescind their former dd cision and to play the rules allowed by the New Zealand Union. This means that the kick into touch and the absolute free kick will not he played. Drastic developments a-re expected in football circles here on the part of referees and players, who prefer the Auckland amendments." Satin-day's school mutches resulted : Forbury 41 points, Kensington nil; Arthur Street 20 points, Port Chalmers 3; Mosgiei 14 points, Goorge Street nil; Musselburgh beat Albany Street by default.
