RETROSPECTIVE MARRIED ALLOW ANCES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Your correspondent "Square Deal tor the Soldier" challenges my statement re above allowances being payable as from attestation, as promised by the Minister of Defence at the R.S.A. Conference. Now, notwithstanding Press reports of tho conference, I have given your correspondent a statement of hvt. I have also given him the necessary information as to verifying my statement —that is, if lie is a member of the R.S.A. If he is not a member, then if ho will forward me his address I will post him a nomination form and the address of the secretary of the R.S.A. nearest to him, who will be only too glad to enrol him as a member. The mil'y qualifications that are necessary are a clean discharge and the sum of 10s. As- a member of the R.S.A. he wiil receive a 1; : of information which will relieve him of the necessity of finding "mares' nests."- —1. am, etc., * ' Titos. Millici;. Julv 3.
