The Rise and Shins dredge worked raainlv on the west side of tlio cut last week,' and will continue to do so for about a fortnight, by which time the oid paddock will have been passed, and the full face will then be taken -:. p. the w-asa waa very tight, and had deepened somewhat. Bottom of hard white clay was got at an average depth pf about 40ft.
