Influenza continues to increase its hold,, both in the city and in the country districts. Up to Monday 6,595 cases had been reported in the metropolitan area, and 2,113 in the country. Since Saturday there have been over 45 deaths, including nine in the country. SYDNEY, June 4. The influenza position here is again less reassuring. Over 100 new cases and seven deaths occurred in tha metropolitan area to-day. while in several of the country centres the epidemic shows an increasing tendency. Precautions are being readopted in the country districts against the spread of the disease.
