MILESTONES
To voung, middle-aged, and aged beings ' Milestones' will come as a reflection _of their own lives. Apart from the- family album or parental tales of the past, one has few opportunities to observe the customs and costumes of our forbears. The picture, taken from Arnold Bennett's play, holds the mirror up to three generations from 1860 to 1914. Furnishings, costumes, personages, and acting are all perfectly true to the periods they represent. As an all-English production, the producers havo surpassed any previous film. In addition, the' story is woven of heart interest and human foibles in such a way as to make it an event of note to witness. ' Milestones ' will commence a week's season at Haywards' next Saturday. An augmented orchestra will render the quaint music appropriate to the periods dealt with in the play. The plan is now open 'at The Bristol,
