HOOKEY. Mr J. Hogg presided over a meeting of cx-ctndents of the Dunedin Technical College, held, on Saturday night for the purpose of forming an Old Bovs’ Hockev Club. The constitution of the club was adopted, and it was decided to include as members am- present student or ex-student of tlm evening school. The first qualifying round of tho Otago Golf Club’s championship was plaved on Balmacewen Links on Saturday afternoon, under good weather conditions. Air G. F. Barnett, who has accounted for the last three St. Andrew’s Cross competitions, again returned' the best score with a round of 78, heating the record for the course of 79, put up by Dr K Ross (on service on a. hospital ship) and Air H. H. Hutchison (who returns from the front this week!. The scores were, on the whole, very poor, there being a difference of nine strokes between the beet score and tho nest.
