Fifth Day--Saturday
A warm, dull daybreak, with a slight drizzle, made the outlook for King's Prize Day dubious; but after breakfast, although the clouds remained, the sun struggled fitfully through, and rain apparently will keep off. The morning is being devoted to the Champion Teams Match for teams of five men ; seven shots at 300, 500, and 600 yards. Twenty teams are entered. The firing for the King's Prize begins at 2 o'clock, mid should be concluded by 3.30. Following is the result of the CONSOLATION MATCH. Ten shots at " 500 yds. Sergeant G. Carey (Trentham), £3 ... 47 Lieutenant W. Powell (Akarana), £2 10s 47 L. Franklin (Napier), £2 47 Corporal H. M'Oill (Trentham), £2 ... 46 W. Raines (Dunedin), £1 10s 45 C. Potts (15th Mounted Rifles), £llos 45 The Colonial Ammunition Company's silver shield, for riiie club teams of five men, all scores in the Belt scries to count, was won by Opaki with 1,865 points, Karori No. 1 being runnera-up with 1,835, and Akarana third 1,826.
