PATRIOTIC ASSOCIATION

The following reports will be submitted to Monday's meeting of tho Patriotic Executive : Otago Soldiers and Dependents' Welfare Committee.—The following is the total expenditure for the month of February, 1919:—Allowances to dependents, £si3 2s. sd; allowances to soldiers, £985 13s sd; advances to soldiers, £lB3 5s Sd; comforts to soldieis in hospital, £sl 4s lOd ; administration expenses, £9B 5s Id. Total. £1.861 lis sd. Belief Committee. —Three meetings of the Belief Committee were held since last report. Tighty-five cases were submitted to the committee, and of these 10 were awarded grants amounting to £34 7s 6d, eight received weekly allowances totalling £4 10s, 26 were continued, 27 were stopped, six wero declined, and live were deferred. Soldiers' Committee.—Four meetings of tho Soldiers' Committee were held during the month. Two hundred and thirty-one caies came up for consideration, and of these 147" mufti allowances were granted (totalling £770 19s 6d), 47 received special grants amounting to £lßl 3s. 13 were awarded weekly allowances of £l7, 20 were recommended to other districts, three were declined, and one case was deferred for further consideration.
