IMPERIAL WIRELESS

GOVERNMENT SET CP BOARD. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 12. Mr Godfrey 0, Isaacs (managing director of Marconi’s Wireless Telegraph Company), in an interview regarding Signor Marconi's offer, made objection to private ownership. He stated that tho big stations throughout the world had been in Signor Marconi’s hands in war time. In any case, it would be at least a year before wireless stations could be built, and the war might then be over. It was most unfortunate in the public interest if the fact that Signor Marconi competed in tho Pacific was permitted to impede tho development of industry iu science. The offer of a wireless service between Britain and Australia at a third less than cable rates was made without any qualifications. SYDNEY. March 13. In connection with tho proposal to link up Britain and Australia by wireless, tho managing director of the Amalgamated Wireless of Australasia, Limited, states that during last year a series of experiments to test tho proposal had proved highly successful. LONDON, March 13. (Received March 14, at 8.55 a.m.) The War Cabinet has appointed a Telegraph Communications Board, under Lord Milner, to study an Imperial wireless system. Apparently no provision has yet been made to secure a Dominion representative.
