Tho monthly meeting of commiltr-o w.is hold yesterday afternoon; present—-Mrs Johnstone (in the chair), Lady Allen, Mesdames Theoinin. AnsoU-Hodson, Isaacs. J. 0. M'Georir-e, Moore, Chas. Rattray, John Boss, ChamptaJonp, Callaway, Jos. M'Oeorye Arundel, Cunninghamo, J;is. Begg, Solomon, Dunlop, Miss Cow, and the secretary. Tho lion. Treasurer reported the maintenance for the month as £'lß Is 6d, also receipt of a number of subscriptions and donations'. Tho Matron of the Karitane-Harris Hospital reported for month of February; Number admitted during the month (mothers 6, babies 10;. 15; number discharged during tho month (mothers 6, babies 13), 19: greatest number in residence at any one time (mothers 2, babies 14), 16; number in residence at February 28, 10 babies; number of visitors to hospital, 150. Of the 10 babies admitted one came from Southland, one from Port Chalmers, ono from Balclutha, and the remaining seven from the Dunedin district. All babies discharged were making satisfactory progress. Number of Planket runv.os in training, 7; number of Karitano nurses in training, 10. Nurse Tucker commenced a, course of Plunket ■ training. Karitano Nurse Ruddock completed her 12 months’ course. Allb-abies in hospital are doing well. Tho Plunket nurses report that tho general health of tho babies in tho district has been very good during th© month of February, tho cool weather keeping them free from the usual summer troubles. Mosgdel was visited four times during tho month. Tho nurse visiting this district reported that tho babies are all doing well. Mrs J. M. Callaway (convener of tho House Committee) submitted a report for , the month, and was authorised to purchase ! articles required for the Karitane-Harris : Hospital.
