SCHOOL EOT DROWNED IN DAM. [Per United Press Association.] GORE, March 14. John Wood Byars, aged eight, while bathing with other boys in a dredge dam near the Waikaka School during the dinner hour yesterday disappeared. When rescued life was extinct. Stanley Sauer, married, 26, while riding n motor cycle at Waimato, came into collision with a motor car. 110 was badly injured. The police have been .advised by the Palmerston constable that William Ross, farmer, a single man, aged 46, shot himself with a revolver whilst in bed at his father’s house, and is dead.
