MELBOURNE TRAINING NOTES. The going is good at Flemington. Ciolo yesterday covered fivo furlongs in Imin 3sec—a season’s record.—the first three furlongs being negotiated in 37sec. At Caulfield Hymestra covered the last five furlongs in Imin lOsec. Eusebius 10 furlongs in 2min 14sec, assisted bv Oneora ; the last six in Imin 19sec. Molly's Robo did eix furlongs (tho best of (he season) in Imin 154 sec. Impediment beat Molyneaux over a mile in Imin 48sec. Lingerie ran six furlongs in Imin 17sec, and Snub and Scornful covered six furlongs in Imin 21sec. Kilflinn beat Pienan over a mile in Imin 48sec. O’Shea rides Snub in the Brunswick Stakes, and W. Williams rides Scornful in the Essendon Stakes.

It was announced last week that Mr H. Friedlander, dissatisfied with the handicapping, had decided to sell his horses. At Waimate yesterday all the three representatives he had at the meeting —Sleepy Head, Royal Star, and Caverock —won. Will Giesaler get an extension of his engagement as trainer? He has assuredly earned it. Benefit and Adjustment are in the private salo list, and it is understood that one or two of the well-bred youngsters belonging to tho same owner are also being inquired about by possible purchasers. Mr Alick Ellis, of Mosgiel, is now managing these business transactions for the family, and brother Johnny is still training tho horses.
