The Ukrainian Bolshevike have captured Kherson (Black fiea port, near Odessa). WHAT HOLLAND AVERTED. COPENHAGEN, March 12. (Received March 15, at noon.) The Dutch Government have discovered a Bolshevik plot to seize the reins of Government. Many of tho Dutch revolutionists had been armed. The Government’s prompt counter-measures saved the country from a successful uprising. POLAND. A BUFFER STATE. TO BE ATTACKED FROM BOTH SIDES. NEW YORK, March 12. (Received March 15, at neon.) The * New York Times's ’ Geneva correspondent learns that the American Secret Service have discovered an understanding between the German General Staff and the Russian Bolsheviks whereby the Bolsheviks and the Germans were to attack Poland simultaneously. In this scheme the German purpose was to retain Posen in the German Empire, Germany attacked Poland, but was frustrated by the Allies. JAPAN AND AMERICA. FORMER'S UNANSWERABLE ARGUMENT. LONDON, March 12. (Received March 15, at noon.) A despatch from Paris states that if the Monroe Doctrine is specifically recognised in tho Peace Treaty Japan will demand ‘that he# special rights be recognised, and that no nation sliall take action in any way affecting China without first consulting Japan.
