Second Day—Wednesday.

TRENTHAM, March 12. Fino weather, not so hot, made the conditions pleasant thin morning for the beginning of the B series of matches, which include those counting for the Belt. The ilrst match, now in progress, is the opening match'—3oo, 500, and 600 yards; seven shots at each distance. On the completion of the second range the loading scores were:—Bartrim (Karori) 65, M'Nabb (Dannevirke) 64, Willoughy (Karori) 64, Morgan (Akarana) 64, Perrin (Linton) 62, Burns (Karori) 63. Sixty-ones and sixties were plentiful. A tricky rear wind caused many uneven scores. The ammunition, which yesterday contained some faultier, was apparently less troublesome to-day with deliberate shooting. Telegrams have been received fwm the Governor-General and Defence Minister congratulating the association on tho successful opening of the meeting. Later. Thejfollowing are the leading men among those who completed the opening match : —Morgan (Chnstchnrch) 92, King (Opalri) 92. James (Okawa) 91. 0. Milroy 91, M'Nabb (Dannevirke) 89, Barns (Karori) 89, Merriless (Tauranga) 88, Mat soy (Karori) 88, M'Kav (Blenheim) 88.
