(Received March 12, at 1.45 p.m.) Sir Auckland Geddes, Reconstruction Minister, announced in tho Commons the Government's transitionary period policy of fostering British industries by (T not) relaxing the import restrictions on raw materials not required for British industries and on half-manufactured and manufactured articles which are procurable in Britain, and by helping industries requiring protection from competition. Import restrictions are to be entirely removed on the Empire's raw materials. It is expected that the expenditure proposed in the next Budget will bo nearly £1,500,000,000.
