ROSLYN CHILDREN’S MISSION

The services conducted by tbe Rev. E. Pn.lgravo Davy were brought to an end on Friday last. The missionor concluded his stori’ of ‘ Pilgrim ’ by leading him safely into the Eternal City of Refuge, and : ho maintained tho interest of the scholars right to tho end. At tho close arrangements were mado for tho one-day canvass for the mission, when some 30 scholars responded-. The results were miido known at 'tho tea party on- Saturday evening, when it was found that tho largest amounts were collected by Misres Richards and Barnrtt (equal) and K. Keenan, and bjr the boys Harry Curtis first and Walter Kennedy second. Each of these received a special reward, and all of tho collectors a copy of the ‘ Pilgrim’s Progress’ and tho magazine ‘The Young Pilgrim.’ ’The- tea party wa.s qiute a happy affair, and was interspersed with fun and jokes. The missiotier stated how pleased be -was with the results of tho mission and the canvass, and thanked all tho contributors, teachers, and helpers in the school and church for their good work. Messrs W. Alexander and J. W. Todd each gave a short address, and spoke of the missioner'a work, and enjoined the boys and girls to keep in tho Pilgrim’s way. A number were than selected to make a weekly collection on Saturday (as from April) in aicßot th o New Zealand Mission. It Is tho missioner’a intention to return in two weeks’ time and conduct further meetings in other City schools.
