REVENUE AND EXPENDITURE

WELLINGTON, March 10. The Hon. A. M. Myers, Acting Minister of Finance, states that the revenue for the 11 months ended Februrary shows an increase of .-3050,755 over the corresponding period of last year. Tin’s is highly satisfactory considering that the Income Tax was later tin’s year. This has led to a decrease in tho revenue for the month of February of £617,415, For the 12 months ended Febnirary .tho revenue decreased by £125,707, which will bo converted into a considerable increase dining the current month, when tho total Income Tax is paid. Expenditure out of ordinary revenue shows a considerable increase duo to interest in sinking fund on war loans, soldiers’ pensions, etc. There is also a considerable increase in departmental expenditure due to payment of tho increased war bonus. The net increased expenditure for 20 months is £3,245,099. Tho Public Works Fund shows £325,763 in hand.
