RUGBY. WELLINGTON BEATS CANTERBURY. Wellington beat Canterbury at Cliristchurch on Saturday by 9 points to nil. The winners showed much superior combination, especially among the backs. The forwards were fairly well matched. In tho first half Porter and Morris each scored a try. In the second half Forter, after a brilliant run, passed to Troy, who dashed over. A Wellington team beat Wairarapa on Saturday by 33 points to 3. The first "of a triangular series of secondary schools competitions took place at New Plymouth on Saturday, when the Auckland College Grammar 'School defeated the New Plymouth High School by 65 points to 10 Doir.ts. To-day the Auckland Grammar School and Nelson College will meet, whilst on Wednesday Nelson will play New Plymouth. ASSOCIATION. SOUTHERN WINS THE CUP. The deciding match for the premiership was replayed between Southern and Maori Hill" at Culling Park on Saturday, when the former won by 11 goals to nil. For the first "time in their history Southern have won the Premiership Cup, the relative positions of tho clubs being:
THIRD GRADE. Old Boys v. Northern played a drawn game, 1 goal each. SCHOOLS MATCHES. The. senior schools' premiership has been won by High S'chool with a substantial lead from Christian Brothers. These two teams have been included in the fourth grade knock-out competition. Christian Brothers (C grade) defeated Ravens bourne by 1 goal to nil. THE LEAGUE GAME. AUCKLAND v _ CANTERBURY.
