DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS

The Dunedin Competitions Society's seventeenth Annual festival will commence in tho Burns Hall at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, and will continue until September 14th. His Worship the Mayor will officially open the Competitions on Wednesday, at 8 p.m. The Festival promises to lae most successful. Over 800 entries have been received and there should be interesting contests in each section. Mr Bernard of Wellington, will judge tho musical sections, Mr A- CHanlon, the senior elocution sections, Mr W. R. Brugh the junior elocution sections, Mr W. H. M'Kenzie the Scotch dancing, and Mrs J. L. Mortimer the fancy dancing. Interesting programmes have been arranged for each session and it is hoped that the public will accord liberal patronage to the competitions.
