FATALITY AT QUARRY

INQUIRY RESUMED. v Tho inquiry ' mt ° ihc d " aih of James Ward Cotton." who succumbed -us tho result of an accident at Shiel's quarry, wa.r, resumed this morning in the Magistrates Court before Mr 11. A. Yeun K (coroner). Ruh-irvpo'-tor Mathieson represented the. police, and Mr J. F. Sinclair appeared for the relative?, Mr Hay for Henry Harrison (the foreman), Mr H. Solomon, K.C., for Cbas. Meado (tho contractor in whose emrdov tho deceased was), and Mr Gallaivay foi-'c. and W. Shiel. Mr E. IL Green (inspector of Mines and Quarries for the district) was also r-res=e-,it. Dr Bowie gave evidence *>s to the admittance, of doe-sod to tho hospital on Tnc nic-rnincr of the 3rd inat., find hs death on the Bth' List., and described the nature oi the injuries.' which included a fractured skull and oilier wounds, ■■-■ itch as wmi,d have been sustained bv Mlin ' stone.
