Mr and Mrs Sparrow were married in Newcastle-on-Tyne in 1869. five years before Mrs Sparrow's father lelt the Old Country. s . . The death is. announced ot Mr Korwrt A'exauder Chisbolm, of Invcrca-gul. .Before retiring, some 20 years ago, the deceased WM well known in blinking circles in Canterbury and Southland. Mr Olnsbolni arrived in New Zealand from Scotland in 1862, and shortly afterwards entered the service of the Ba.uk ot Aew Zealand, being stationed at LytieKon until he was appointed bank manager at rimaru, where he remained for 30 years. Towards the end of bis professional career h°> was appointed ma.nagcr at iiivercargill, a position which lis held un?il bis retirement, since which he has lived alternately at Christchu-ch and Invercaxgill Up to onlv a few years ago Mr Chisbolm followed the gun, this being a sport of which be was a keen d-svotee.
