THE KAWARAU SCHEME
Great interest is already being taken in the approaching entertainment to be given in the Kmgs Theatre, on Monday evening next, when the public of Dunedin will be able to pay a visit to the great work being carried on in Central Otago, known as the Cromwell development scheme. Quito a sensation was ' caused when it became known that the two huge blocks of concrete, weighing SOO and 700 tons respectively, were to be dropped into the fast-running Kawarau River. Mr Barry has a wide knowledge of this scheme, having spent some three months in the district. A varied and up-to-date supporting programme is to be presented. No doubt there will be a keen desire to ■reserve seats. The box plan for the four nights' season will open at The Bristol on Friday morning next, at 9 o'clock. Prices to be charged are 2s and 1b; booking fee, 6d extra.
