THOSE PEACE CRANKS

A LETTER FROM THE TRENCHES. Mr John Leydon, of Auckland, has just received another letter from his grandson, Warrant Officer B. J. Keate, a recent recipient of the D.0.M., who went through the Gallipoli campaign, and now beads his letters " Somewhere in France." The last to hand was written on June 14, and in it ho says i "We have had good news from all quarters. We are winning everywhere, and I think the end is very near. It really makes one sick to cead about those peace cranks who have gone mad lately. I don't mean to say that we do not want the war to finish ; we do want it to end, and end quickly; but it has got to go the vray wo want, it, and not the as you were started' sort of business. And I really think it will end before most of us think." The Huns have had a rotten time lately, and the Russian business is beginning to straighten itself, which means a lot to the Allies."
