Domigan, to be. majors; Lieutenant J. M'Ciae, to he captain. Chaplains' Department.—Venerable Archdeasou Harry Stocker, chaplain of the Forces (second class), i* posted to t'ss retired list; Very Rev. Dean A. R. Fitehett, ehaplabi to' the Forces (fourth class), retires as from August 25, 1916. KILLED. Corporal Thomas John Gilmore in action in France) was the yonucest sou of .Mr and Mrs Jas. Gilmore, of Waikoua.iti. Corporal Gilmore was born in Goodwood, and received his education at Flag .Swamp School. Ho was a keen nile sl.ot, and was a member of the Goodwood Defence Rifle Club, during which time he won several trophies in trie shooting competitions. When war broke out he was the first to volunteer, and also the first from the district to make the supremo sacrifice. He proceeded to Kgypt- as a. private in the main body, in the 10th North Otago Company, but in a, lettci recently received from a comrade in Fiance he said he had been recommended for sergeant. Corporal Gilmore took part in the landing at Galiipoli, a.nd while, on the peninsula was twice wounded. At the time of the evacuation he was in hospital, suffering from enteritis and malarial fever. He rejoined his regiment, and proceeded with them to France, where he. took part in all the fighting till his death. Tie was 21 years of age, and a yrea't favorite with ail who knew him. MISSING. Private William Sanderson (who;is reported missing) is 40 years of age, and the youngest sou of Mr James Sanderson, Taimii road, Anderson Day. He was born and educated at. Anderson Bay. He served two years as an engineer. He sawactive service in South Africa with the Bth New Zealand Mounted Contingent. For six years prior to enlisting with the 11th Reinforcements he was employed at the Crown Milling Company. ■-< "MS." forwards us £l, rsm-csentitig his four months' subscription to the Belgian fund.
