MARY PICKFORD AS 'MISTRESS NELL'

There is no doubt about the great attraction which Mary Pickford exerts on picture-goers., and her latest success, ' Mistress Nell.' is likely to prove no exception to the rule. The bookings for the Octagon to-night are exceptionally big, and easily eclipse the previous best, which was for her previous success ' Rags.' ' Mistress Nell' is a beautiful story of a semi-his-torical nature, telling of the abortive attempt to wreck the throne of England when Charles H was King, and how the loyal little actress—the King's favorite— Nell Gwynne, outwitted the conspirators, and earned the monarch's gratitude. With Miss Pickford in the part of the impulsive little madcap, the picture-play reaches a standard not often attained. "Fine photography, beautiful scenery, gorgeous dressing, and a most capable company of actors, all add to the genuine success of the film. The supporting programme is of exceptional merit. The box plan at The Bristol oloses at 5 p.m., but seats may be reserved, to-night from 7 p.m. by theatre 'phone.
