(Received April 3, at 9.40 a.m.) The master bakers have passed a motion not to take any notice of the Federal proclamation fixing the price of bread until the Price Adjutment Board report. RADJWAYMEN STRIKE. SYDNEY, April 3. (Received April 3, at 9.40 a.m.) The engineers at Everleigh Workshops have struck, demanding increased wages. Mr Cook, M.H.R., speaking at Turramurra, referred to the strike as an ugly disfigurement on a fair country. BROKEN HILL CONDITIONS. SYDNEY, April 2. At a mass meeting of the Broken Hill men it was decided to inform the Arbitration Court Judge that they were prepared to work 48 hours weekly till the end of the war provided that a 44-hour week was conceded immediately peace was declared; and secondly, that they were prepared to guarantee to produce as much ore in the 44 hours as in the 48 hours if there was no victimisation and a, livinjr wage was assured.
