The marriage to Engineer-lieutenant F. Hadlow Barton, R.N.R.. only surviving son of Air and Airs W. E. Barton (Canterbury, New Zealand), to Doris, only daughter to the late Ah- Norman Harper Bell, of Dunedin, and Airs Norman Harper Bell, Bussell square, London, took place at Sheerness on August 11. The honeymoon was spent in Canterbury. Air James Alaclcenzie, T. 5.0., F.R.G.S., biother of t)io Hon. Thos. Alackenzio, retires from the Government service, on superannuation, on the 30th inst. ’ His position as Under-secretary of the Lands Department will be taken by Air Af. Brodrick. at present Commissioner of Grown Lands at Wellington, and Air Brodrick will be succeeded in Wellington by Air Gordon H. APClure, chief surveyor in Southland.
