FALLEN SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL.
TO THE EDITORSir, —At this time we are all thinking about a suitable memorial for our boys who Have fallen at the Dardanelles. What more suitable a monument than a Town Hall? A hall is urgently needed now that the Garrison Hall is being taken over by the Defence authorities. The corporation are not in funds, but the people of Dunedin, I am certain, would willingly subscribe for such a noble purpose, and instead of a useless obelisk, we would have a lasting, useful memorial. If thought advisable, brasses on the walls could perpetuate especially brilliant names a.nd deeds.— l am, etc., J, S. Faulkner. September 22.
