DUNEDIN EXCHANGE. Yesterday afternoon Talismans had a sharp rise, with sales up to 18s 9d, and Union Steams (ordinary issue) had an improved market, with sales at 22s 6d. This morning Talismans remained firm, Waihis were quoted 365, 36s 6d, and Junctions were wanted at 21s 3d. In the investment market National Banks appear firmer, with a buyer at 97s and no seller under £5. Bank of New Zealands had a close market in the old issue—buyer £lO 3s, seller £lO 6s—whilst new issue firmed ‘up to buyers £l6 2s. Union Steams continue to improve. The ordinary issue were quoted 22s 6d buyer, 22s 9d seller ; preference had buyers at 19s 9d. WestEort Coals were sold at 295, and closed uyers 28s 9d, with no seller under 29s 6d.
