The fortieth anniversary of the landing of the first _ Stewart special settlement party at Katikati, near Tauranga, by the Dover Castle and Carishxooke C-astle from Belfast on September 17, 1875, was celebrated on Friday night at Katikati by a concert, dance, 'and banquet. Over 200 people were present, including many members of the three Stewart special settlement parties. Mr George Vesey Stewart, who organised and brought out the parties, is now 83 years of age. The gathering was a record one for Katikati, and great enthusiasm prevailed.
