MADE IN GERMANY
An interesting find was recently made on fbe shores of the Persian Guif by a party of British troops operating in Mesopotamia. A: huge chest that had evidently been abandoned in haste was discovered near tha water's edge, crammed to the lid with cheap war medais, manufactured in Germany, lor distribution among the Turkish troops. Ona of the medals recently came into the possession of an officer of the Commonwealth Defence Department through the medium of a f riend at ,the front. It appears to be made of aluminium, and probably cost less than a halfpenny to produce. There were thouof them in the chest, together with strips of cheap red ribbon and a large quantity of common safety pins.
