LODGE MEETING

Invitations to attend a social evening at Rescue Lodge had been issued by P.C.T. Bro. J. Hilton to past and present members of the lodge, and the attendance last night must have been very gratifying to those mosi concerned. A capital 'programme of songs, recitations, etc., had been arranged, with the result that a firstclass _ entertainment was provided. In addition, an exhibition, of club-swinging and a Highland fling were also given. In returning thanks to those who had accepted the invitation and attended, Bro. Hilton stated that of the charter members only three (C.T. Bro. W. lies, Sister lies, and himself) were present. He traced the work of the lodge since its inception, and exhorted those who in the past had been active workers, but who for various reasons had become lukewarm, to bestir themselves and again take an interest in the work of the Order, as the lodge was not dead, but their presence and experience were needful to keep- up the reputation gained. During an interval refreshments were handed round.. In responding to a vote of thanks and hearty good wishes, this being the anniversary of his birthday, Bro. Hilton, who was greeted with musical honors, returned thanks for the kind words and good wishes given'expression to, and in doing so stated that he was always happiest when engaged in the work of the Order. Votes of thanks were earned with acclamation to those who had contributed to the harmony and to those, too, who had otherwise ably assisted in making the gathering such an undoubted success. In addition to playing a pianoforte solo, Sister M. Paterson played the accompaniments efficiently The singing of the National Anthem brought a most pleasant reunion to a termination.
