HUSBAND FED THROUGH THE WINDOW. .Maria Pooley, an elderly woman, living at Ramsden road, Balham, was summoned at the South-western Police Court on July 29 by her husband, 'who asked for the discharge oj an. order under which he was required to pay. his wife alimony for desertion. Mr Burton Ward, for the husband, said they were dealing with an extremely, strong-minded and vindictive woman and with the weakest man that ever trod the earth. On one occasion the \vife kept her husband a prisoner in the bathroom for several days, not by lock and key, but through terror of her personality and temper. He was fed through the window by his neighbors. ''"'.. The husband made his application on the ground that he had returned, to his wife, sleeping on a sofa. . Mrs Pooley : We did not live together. Mr Lister Drnmmond: But your husband returned home and the "order for alimony will be discharged '.in consequence.
