FIRES
AT INGLEWOD. A fire in block containing four shops and dwellings occurred at- Inglewood on Sunday morning. Tho shops were occupied by Mr Painter (chemist). Mr Geddes (jeweller), Mr Rolston (tailor), and Mr Cramer (baker), and the building was owned by Messrs Curtis Bros. (Stratford). It w,as completely gutted, but a little of tho furniture and. stock was saved. Botails regarding the insurances are not yet available. CHURCH DESTROYED. INVERCARGILL, July 7. Tho Baptist Church, a wooden building at North Invercargill, was destroyed by lire at 2 o’clock this morning. It was insured for £3OO.
