The following is a selection from an 'Army Catechism' in the April 'Uppingham School Magazine':— Q. What is the official position of an officer who has been dismissed and reinstated by Ma superiors? A. He is on "French" leave. Q. How is this leave expressed? A. It is signed, Seely'd, and delivered. Q. Is it then valid? A. it becomes an '• honest misunderstanding." , Q. What arm of the service is most useful in protecting stores? A. Cavalry, and siege guns. Q. What is mutiny? A. To be given a choice of action, and to take it.
Q. Why has the author not signed this catechism? A. Because ho has no wish to repudiate
