SOUTHLAND STOCK MARKETS. [Special to the Star.) TNVERCARGILL. November 19. _ There was an extraordinary lanie yarding of store sattle at- the .usual Wa'llaectown stock sale to-day; in fact, it was the largest forwarded for many months past. The bulk of the stuff consisted of young beasts, values for which wore on a par with those lately ruling. The entry of fat cattle was also a substantial increase compared with that of late sales. Prime ox beef brought 53s 6d per 1001b. a reduction of from 10s to 15s per head on those ruling a fortnight ago. This was duo to the fact that butchers have been buying privately of late, and some are fully supplied. THE MARKETS. . Association—By Telegraph—Copyright, - LONDON. November 18. Wheat: r I he market is firm. Australian shows an advance of fullv 3d and Russian and La Plata is 6d higher. \n Australian cargo was sold at- 35s 6d and another at 35s 3d. Five thousand two hundred tons of West Australian, Januarv shipment. was sold at 35s and 35"s 44d was offered for 7.000 tons December shipment, after 33s had been refused on Saturday.
