[Per United Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, November 17. The band contest opened to-day, with good attendances at, each session. The following are tho results: B flat Baes— C. Bartlett (Eighth Regimental, Invereargill) 43, G. Dale (Bluff) 38. Double 75 flat Bass.—J. J. Collins (Second Regimental. Timaru) '44, R. Brown (Dominion, Invcrcargill) A. Fraser (Kaikcrai) 45. B flat Cornet.—E. Sullivan (Lyttelton Marine) 43, W. H. Osbcrno (Timaru) 42, J. Humphries (Dominion) 41. In the "B" grade selection, ' The Martyrs,' tho 10th Regimental Band (Oamarti), the Hibernian (Invercargili), tho Bluff, and tho Matav.ra- plajed.
