She declared that thousands of women were toiling long hours for 6s to 8s weekly, and that child workers received a mere pittance. Over 3,000 oiganised women workers earned less, than 12s a. week. Several sweated women addressed th-*. conference. The Bishop of Oxford said he was filled with shame, at the Church's attitude, and he asked why it was left to Mr Larkin to call attention to Dublin's misery when a, church was ihere which claimed to support the poor.
