WELLINGTON, October 7. borne complaint is being made that members of tho Opposition have bad tiieir salaries reduced owing to absence from the House, even though they got formal leave of absence. It is, however, pointed out by the Prime Minister, that only in cases of personal sickness or sickness in families is iea.ve of absence granted entirely, in all other cases a deduction of £2 per day is made. Anvwav the Government have nothing to do with the matter, which us entirely in the hands oi the Speaker.
