Starting off the 50vds mark in the former he beat 11. G. M'Lcod (scratch) by 10yds in 4mm 35sec. In the Half-mile Lay (16yds) won hy a foot from R. Pedlar (14yds), in 2min 6sec. A strong breeze was against the runners. Greymoulh.—The Hibernian sports at Victoria. Park were the only attraction for the holiday._ Showers during the day interfered with the attendance, but there were fully 3.0C0 people, present. Wall (Christchurch) wear the Half-mile and Twomiio cycle events, and gained second in the 1 wo-milo Race. ’I he Sheffield Handicap (120 yds) went to A’Cuurt (9yds), in llfsee. Auckland.—At the St. 'Patrick’s Day j sports Dormer (amateur) lowered his own New Zealand half-mile record by 2sec, his ! time being Imin 56isec. Geraldine.-—the St. Patrick's Day sports vi ere rather hampered by a. strong norvester. There were good fields and a good attendance, and the sports passed off well but for tno mishap. F. Everett, of Christchurch. and Meharrv in tho first hievnie race glided together. _ Both fell heavily, and Everett broke his shoulderblade. R. O’Shea wen tho Half-mile. Milo, and Thresmiie Bicycle from scratch. The Sheffield Handicap (130 yds) went to D. Devon (bavds).
