Exited Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. January 7. The ram which fell throughout Canterbury during the last couple of day* has greatly improved the agricultural outlook of the grain crops. Pastures were beginning to show the effects of continued dry weather, and in some cases the crops promised poor returns, especially those sown late in the season, while turnips, rape, and similar crops were making little progress. 1 he rain has entirely changed the outlook, and will result in incalculable benefit to farmers and agriculturists. THE WOOL SALES. [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. January 7. Monday’s wool sale promises to be one of too largest ever held in Christchurch. Particulars are not yet available, but it is understood that the catalogues will aggregate more than 25.000 bales, whereof one firm claims 7.000. probably an individual record for the Dominion.
