The total receipts at the Westport Customs last year were £16.288, an increase of £IBB over the previous year. The value of the imports was £45,1641 an increase of £3,024. The value of 'the exports was £50.608. The total tonnage entered was 1,173 ships, of 692,420 tons. A London cable dated January 5 quotes the market for galvanised fencing wire at 167s 6d, and that for iron bars at 1755. THE LONDON MARKETS.

The output from Manila for the week was 17,000 bales. IVool.—Market strong for all grades. Wheat.—Market dull, with very little business doing. BRISBANE, January 6. (Received January 6, at 9.45 a.m ) _ The yield :rom the Mount Morgan mine for December was 590 tons of copper and 7,7480z of gold, of a total value of £68,002. The smelters were closed on December 25, and start work again on January 9. The company's half-yearly report shows that the surplus of revenue over expenditure during the half-year was £253,126, to ■which has to be added £14,874 undivided profit from the previous half-year. After providing sufficient to cover depreciation and other charges, adding £50,000 to the building fund, and paying a dividend of Is per share, a balance of £23,294 remains to be carried forward.
