ASSAULT FOOTBALL REFEREE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, January 2. (Received January 3, at 8 a.m.) The crowd mobbed the English referee 3t the Franco-Scottish Rugby match. They assailed him with sticks and stones. He was recued by the municipal guard. [The game was won by Scotland by 21 points to o.] A majority of the Parisian newspapers regret, the mobbing of the referee-, though they pass some criticism on his decisions. The incident has not detracted from the cordiality existing, and the banquet after the match was attended by all the players and officials.
