OAMARU EXCURSION.
lesterday the Union Steam Ship Company ran their annual excursion to Oamaru. The weather conditions were very favorable, and tho 800 odd passengers who voyaged in tho s.s. Moura spent a most enjoyable time. Tho vessel lolt the wharf shortly after 8 a.m. the. Heads being cleared at 9.30 a m Oamaru was reached about 1.30 p.m., and tha passengers lost no time in getting ashore and doing tho sights of the town, the Gardens being the chief attraction. The Moura left Oamaru at 3.30 p.m. Immediately after clearing tho breakwater, a head wind was encountered, but it died away as the vessel lieared Otago Heads,' and the remainder of the trip, from tho Heads to Dune.din, was made under exceedingly pleasant conditions. After a voyage enjoyed by all aboard, the Moura reached town at 8.15 p.m. The musical selections by tho Citizens' Band, under Mr H. Holland, added much to the pleasure of tho outing. As usual, a number of persons suffered from the dreaded seasickness. A feature of this year's trip was the entire absence of rowdyism of any kind.
