THE CABINET CRISIS

CAPE TOWN, December 21. General Botha resents General Hertzog's disclosing the proceedings in Cabinet. The Prime Minister says that General Hertzog has unnecessarily asked whether South African interests would have preference over Imperial interests, and asserts that the true interests of South Africa need not conflict.
The following Cabinet charges are announced:—Hon. J. ■W. Sauer succeeds General Hertzog as Minister of Justice, Sir Thomas Watt cucceeds Sir D. P. De V. Graaf as Minister of Public Works, and the latter takes Sir C. Gubbins's place as Minister without portfolio.
