LODGE MEETING.
The Hope of Dunedin Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting on Friday in the lodge room, Dowling street, Bro. Dunlop, C.T., presiding. Reports of the Lily of the Valley official visit and the Port Chalmers reopening ceremony were made by Bros. M'Keown, Dunlop, and Perieari. An invitation from the Sons and Daughters of Temperance to a social evening was accepted. A motion was proposed bearing testimony to the good work done by the late General Booth, and sympathy with the Army in the loss they have sustained. After several members had spoken of the life-work of the General, and his #iervices to the total abstinence movement, the motion was carried by a standing vote. The iteai of the evening was 'Topical Temperance Talks," and was very instructive. After a short musical programme the vote to the visitors was passed, and responded to by Sister Cameron, Bro. Johnston (PioneerK and Bro. Western (Rescue). A brothers' surprise was arranged for next meeting, and it is to fee a good one. -■——^....
