RAIDING A GAMBLING DEN
RESULTS IX FIVE DEATHS. Tress Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LISBON, August 24. At Chaves the police raided a gambling den, which was frequented by smugglers and handits. A fierce, conflict ensued, during which five people were killed and 14 wounded. The sum of £6,500 was seized, and 45 arrests were made.
