The 'Daily Chronicle's' Constantinople correspondent reports that King Nicholas has called out- tho Montenegrin Army, and that fighting is proceeding on the frontier, as though war had been declared. The destruction of Christian villages near Berana has been resumed, and barbaric acts are witnessed. Seven heads were carried on poles about Berana, and children have been mutilated. The Montenegrins rcoccupied Berana, and are besieging the Turks who hold the fort. Later Djavid Bey entered Berana, and tho Montenegrins dispersed. The situation on the frontier is now said to have improved. Russia and Austria-Hungary are urging 1 the Porte to ratify the protocol of 19C8 relating to the modification of the frontier in the Jezere district. It is understood that the Porte will acquiesce.
