ASKED TO RESIGN.
AX APPEAL TO THE FEDERATION. [Pee Ukitep Phiss Associatiok.} AUCKLAND. August 26. At a meeting of the Auckland General Laborers' Union there was a stormy discussion in regard to Mr J'. Fraser occupying the position of president, because fie was not following the occupation of * general laborer. Evidence was taken by a committee, who brought in a recommendation against. Mr Fraser. This was considered at a special meeting, which was stormy at times, and the chairman left the meeting. Subsequently the recommendation ol the committee" was carried bv a large majority. It was stated that *Mr Fraser declined to vacate his office until -i referendum of the union had been taken. The matter was further considered, and the meeting resolved to. ask Mr Fraser to resign. Mr Fraser intimated that he would appeal to the Federation of Labor.
