ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS.
An Auckland telegram states that Captain Andrew Sloane fell over a cliff while walking in his garden at Heme Bay, atid .sustained injuries from which he died in tho hospital. It is not known how the accident occurred. A private cable from Fiji reports the death by drowning of Alfred N. Strong, a young Aucklander, who left for the islands a few months ago. —Auckland wire. An old age pensioner nanted Henry Diamond was found drowned in a creek at Ihinanga this morning.—Greymouth telegram. A poisoning case occurred at Auckland yesterday. Two young children named Rita Roes (aged two years) and-William Roes (aged five years) were playing in their parents' house, when they found a bottle of belladona, and proceeded to sample the lotion. The effect was serious, and the children became very ill and had to be taken to tho hospital.
